Washer & Dryer Repair

Whether your front-load is dancing across the floor on spin, your dryer's running an hour to dry one load, or your washer just won't drain — we work on every laundry brand and every laundry layout the Valley puts in front of us.

If yours is doing one of these, we can probably fix it today.

Washer fills but won't drain or spin

Most likely cause: Almost always a drain pump clogged with a sock or coin, or a snapped drive belt on top-load units. Sometimes a stuck lid switch on older machines.

Typical fix: Pull the pump filter (we'll show you how for next time), free the impeller, replace the pump if blades are chewed up. Belt swap takes 25 minutes.

Front-load shaking, walking, or thumping on spin

Most likely cause: Worn shock absorbers and tub springs — common on Whirlpool/LG/Samsung front-loaders past 6 years. The drum is bouncing instead of damping.

Typical fix: Replace all 4 shocks as a set, level the machine, balance the load. We don't replace just one — they wear together and replacing in pairs creates new imbalance.

Dryer takes 2-3 cycles to dry a normal load

Most likely cause: Restricted vent line — the #1 cause we see. Lint accumulates in the vent inside your wall over years and chokes airflow.

Typical fix: Vent cleaning + check the heating element and high-limit thermostat. We carry a 25-foot vent brush and an anemometer to verify airflow before we leave.

Washer leaking from the bottom

Most likely cause: Cracked tub bearing seal, failed door boot (front-load), or a split inlet hose. Each leaves a different water pattern.

Typical fix: Identify by water trail — front-load boots are 90% of leaks past 7 years. Bearing-seal jobs are involved (4-hour repair) but always worth it on built-in stackable units.

Dryer runs but no heat

Most likely cause: Failed heating element (electric) or igniter (gas), tripped thermal fuse, or — in 30% of cases — a vent that's so clogged the unit's safety thermostat is shutting it down.

Typical fix: Test element/igniter resistance, check thermal fuse, run vent test. We always pull and inspect the lint duct on a no-heat call.

Loud rumbling or squealing during the cycle

Most likely cause: Tub bearing failure on front-loaders, drum roller wear on dryers, or a worn idler pulley.

Typical fix: Bearing jobs require pulling the tub — we do these in your garage in 4 hours. Drum rollers and idlers are 90-minute fixes.

Washer & dryer repair across the San Fernando Valley.

The laundry pair is where Valley homes get hit hardest by failure. Hard water, long dryer vent runs through old attics, gas lines that haven’t been touched in 40 years — your washer and dryer take it all. We service the entire pair, gas and electric, every brand, every configuration the Valley has installed since the 1980s.

A few things to know before we come out:

Front-load vs top-load is a totally different repair business. Front-loaders (LG, Samsung, Whirlpool Duet, Electrolux, Miele) get a lot of tub-bearing failures and door-boot leaks past year 6. Top-loaders (Speed Queen, Maytag agitator-style) are simpler, last longer, and usually fail at the transmission or the lid switch. We carry parts for both — but if you’re calling about a front-load with a bearing rumble, expect a 4-hour repair.

Stackables are a quirk we handle. A lot of Valley condos and Sherman Oaks/Studio City townhomes have stackable washer-dryers wedged into a closet. We bring a low-clearance dolly and the right tools to pull these without scratching tile. Don’t trust a tech who shows up without one.

Gas dryer service is licensed work. California requires gas-line work be done by a licensed contractor. We are. We test for gas leaks with a soap-bubble test and a calibrated detector after every igniter or valve swap. If your dryer was installed by a handyman with a flexible line, we’ll inspect it and tell you if it’s safe.

What about the laundromat-vs-repair math?

Speed Queen top-loaders, Miele front-loaders, and any built-in laundry tower over $1,500 new is always worth repairing through a 10-year life. Whirlpool/Samsung/LG units between 6 and 10 years old are a judgment call — we’ll give you the part cost, the labor, and an honest read on whether the rest of the machine is likely to follow soon. Sub-$700 entry-level units past year 7 with a control-board failure usually aren’t.

We won’t sell you a $400 control board on a $600 washer.

  1. 1

    Bring the right truck
