Northridge is unique in the Valley because of the 1994 earthquake. Most homes here had structural and kitchen damage — and the repairs that followed installed a generation of late-1994 to mid-1996 appliances that are now hitting 30 years old. We’ve been quietly replacing and repairing those since the company started.
A few things specific to Northridge service:
The post-quake appliance generation is at end-of-life. A lot of GE, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Frigidaire appliances installed in 1995 are now exactly the wrong age — old enough that parts are getting harder to source, but young enough that the homeowners aren’t planning replacement budgets yet. We’ll give you the honest math: a $400 control-board swap on a 1995 KitchenAid dishwasher is rarely worth it; a $185 element replacement on a 1996 GE wall oven is.
CSUN-area homes were built for serious cooks. The streets around the university have a lot of faculty homes, many with built-in wall ovens and cooktops separately installed. We service the cooktop-and-oven combination — gas, electric, and induction — and we’re factory-trained on Wolf, Thermador, and GE Monogram for the higher-end calls.
Older 220V circuits matter for laundry. A lot of Northridge laundry rooms have original 1960s 220V outlets that have been re-tapped for newer dryers over the years. We check connection integrity on every dryer call. A loose terminal at the outlet can mimic a heating-element failure — we’ve saved customers hundreds by catching this before swapping a part.
Devonshire-corridor pickups are easy. We route Northridge calls together with Granada Hills calls when the schedule allows — efficient mileage, usually faster service for both customers. If you’re between Roscoe and Devonshire, you’ll often get an earlier window than you’d expect.
